ALUMINUM ALLOY FORGING PLATE

Aluminum forging sheet applications

Plate is used in heavy-duty applications such as those found in the aerospace, military and transportation prodsuct manufacturing. Aluminum sheet, machined to shape, forms the skins of jets and spacecraft fuel tanks. It is used for storage tanks in many industries, in part because some aluminum alloys become tougher at supercold temperatures. This property is especially useful in holding cryogenic (very-low-temperature) materials. Plate is also used to manufacture structural sections for railcars and ships, as well as armor for military vehicles.

Designed for use in large volume to prodsuction injection molds, structural foam, semi-conductor, rotational molds, blow molds, foundry tooling along with vacuum tools. Also used in rubber molds, heating and cooling sheets.

Aluminum forging Plate is a proven and widely used aluminum mold alloy.  Created to help prototype and low volume prodsuction mold makers prodsuce molds more quickly, M-5 Aluminum Plate has an established track record of success.  Prodsuced in California at an aerospace certified casting facility, M-5 Aluminum Plate provides an affordable alternative to typical wrought and forged large aluminum blocks.

Aluminum forging Plate offers the mold maker a porosity free and grain free prodsuct, with consistent hardness and strength properties throughout the thickness of the sheet, even up to its maximum thickness of 30 inches.  The proprietary alloy composition provides strength at room temperature, as well as increased resistance to thermal fatigue compared with some wrought alloys.
