2024 aluminum alloy has good welding property and tends to form intergranular cracks in gas welding and argon arc welding. The machinability of 2024 aluminum alloy is good after cold hardening. The corrosion resistance is not high. Anodizing and painting methods or aluminum coating are often used to improve the corrosion resistance.
