The difference between 5052 aluminum sheet and 6061 aluminum

Last Updated: 2018-11-18

5052 aluminum sheet, mainly for the magnesium alloy element which have a good forming performance, corrosion resistance, weldability and medium strength, used to make airplane oil tank, oil tube, as well as the transportation vehicles, ships, sheet metal parts, instrument, lamps stent and rivet, metal prodsucts, electrical enclosure, etc.5052 aluminum sheet, with thickness more than 6mm and magnesium content between 2.2% – 2.8% by weight, is a typical prodsuct of 5XXX series aluminum alloys, and belongs to low-magnesium and non-heat-treatable alloy.The features of 5052 aluminum alloy sheets:

1.Moderate strength;

2. Excellent corrosion resistance;

3. Good weldability;

4. Better formability;

5. Good fatigue strength;

6. Anodizing material 6061 aluminum sheet, the main alloy elements are magnesium and silicon. If a certain amount of manganese and chromium, can neutralize the bad effect of iron; sometimes add a small amount of copper or zinc to improve the strength of the alloy, and the corrosion resistance decreased significantly; there is a small amount of copper conductive materials, titanium and iron to offset the adverse effects on the conductivity of the zirconium; or titanium recrystallization grain refinement and control; in order to improve the cutting performance, adding lead and bismuth.

In Mg2Si solution, the alloy has artificial aging hardening function.alloy Si Fe Cu Mn Mg Cr ZnTi Al 60610.4- main alloy elements in 6061 aluminum alloy are magnesium and silicon, which have moderate strength, good corrosion resistance and weldability, and the oxidation effect is better.6061 aluminum sheet has excellent processing performance, good corrosion resistance, high toughness and non deformation after processing, easy to paint film, excellent oxidation effect and other excellent features.
